Job Information

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to provide high-quality support and positive outcomes for young people in the care service including unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working in a similar setting. We offer specialist support, care, advice and guidance tailored to each young person's needs to support them in their transition into adulthood and independent living.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Support Team Manager, the candidate will be working as part of team of support workers responsible for the below but not limited to:

* Provide support and guidance to young people living independently in their homes.
* Assist in developing young people's independent living skills.
* Promote and encourage positive life choices in such as social activities, budgeting and education.
* Update and ensure progress is made with care plans accordingly.
* To liaise with social services and other professionals in terms of specific and general service delivery, support, accommodation etc, and to respond to any complaints/issues they have in a timely manner.
* Participate in service developments including planning, control, monitoring, review and evaluation activities to ensure continuous improvements in service delivery.
* To ensure that all young people, and staff are treated in accordance with the Equal Opportunities policy, and fairly with consideration of their cultural, religious and physical needs.
* To provide on-call assistance as required to staff, social services and management.
* To ensure all safeguarding issues are addressed and signposted in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
* Coordinate and liaise with team members to ensure cohesive and compliant delivery of service.

Requirements for the Role

* NVQ Level 3 in Children's Social Care and/or equivalent, or willing to work towards one within a set timeframe.
* Knowledge and understanding of The Children's Act and Children's Social Care system preferred
* Driving Licence
* Must have previous experience and working with a young people within the care setting
* Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate at all levels
* Excellent relationship building skills
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Must be able to travel across a large geographical portfolio on a daily/weekly basis
