Your new company
Contracts Manager for a successful and expanding southern main contractor. The company has doubled its turnover in the past year and is looking to sustain its growth plans as they move forward. Projects undertaken are interesting and varied, including – education; fast track retail fit outs; healthcare projects; residential high-specification properties; school and college; civic retro fit and decarbonisation works; church restorations; sports or school hall renovation works. An ambitious and quality-driven company.

Your new role
Either an experienced Contracts Manager, or a Senior Manager looking to progress into contract management, you will be responsible for overseeing approximately 3–4 projects with values from £500k - £8m+. You will be involved from the early stages of the project's tender award and have a team of Supervisors plus a dedicated QS.

Responsible for all day to day contracts management duties including subcontract management, health and safety, progress reports, client liaison, financials, troubleshooting and management of the site team. This role will include the following duties based in the office or on site. This position is not suitable for remote or hybrid consideration.

Duties will include -


* Attend tender adjudications.
* To ensure diligent pre-contract planning is carried out.
* Understand and deliver contracts within the agreed contract conditions.
* Line management of Site Managers.
* Providing leadership, direction, guidance and training
* Liaise with materials and subcontract procurement teams and labour manager to ensure the correct resources are available.
* Prepare internal and external progress reports.
* Planning of the works in conjunction with the site team
* Direction of resources including both direct and subcontract labour
* Establish and implement safe and proper working practices
* Set realistic targets and monitor progress, ensuring projects are completed on time.
* Report Progress of projects to the Senior Management team
* To recognise and develop business growth opportunities with both existing and new clients

What you'll need to succeed

* Either, you will be an experienced Contracts Manager or Senior Site Manager taking the next step in your career.
* Experience of a variety of contracts for the different main contracting sectors – education, healthcare, housing, commercial, heritage.
* High quality standards, monitoring systems and strong communication skills
* You will be confident dealing with clients and other construction professionals.
* Hold a construction qualification ie B.Sc. Construction or Building related subject
* Experienced with Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction companies
