We are recruiting on behalf of a large and successful organisation for Tree/Arboricultural Officer initially on a temporary basis. There may be an opportunity for permanent employment after a qualifying period for the right candidate.

Assisting the Tree Manager in inspections and management of the tree stock and contractual tree services, including providing technical and professional advice on all tree related matters.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Together with your tree team colleagues - ensure annually that 1/3 of the tree stock has a Visual Tree inspection assessing for structural integrity, disease, damage, decay, pests and make tree works recommendations using both the current application for inspections and other applications to create works orders and provide maps as needed to contractors.
* Provide technical advice to the necessary department on all arboricultural matters including completing applications for works on both protected trees (TPO) and those sited within conservation areas as designated.
* Respond to departments, local members and members of the public regarding tree related enquiries and complaints.
* Organise new and replacement tree planting locations each year, advise on suitable species for the location.
* Monitor arboriculture contractors, contracts and issued works.
* Respond to emergencies and issue relevant tree works by identifying hazards and issuing clear instructions to contractors to make safe.

Qualifications/Experience:

* Nationally or internationally recognised Arboricultural qualification/certification to a minimum of Level 2. Proven experience and references, 3 years of tree related work experience needs to be provided for all levels.
* IT literate as this role has a considerable amount of computer based work to complete.
* High level of enthusiasm and good communication skills for numerous types of tree related conversation (managers, different departments, members of public, contractors, internal staff)
* Valid full U.K. driving licence with no disqualifications

Working Monday-Friday, 08.00-16.00.
